SPEARFISH, SD- The Dickinson State University Men's Indoor Track & Field team opened their season on Friday at the Myrtle Hanson Invite in the Don Young Center of Black Hills State University.
Josh Torgerson jumped a personal best mark in the indoor triple jump with 12.77 meters while Josh Reed set his all time personal best in the 200 meters with a time of 24.31 and an indoor long jump personal best of 6.27meters.
Ty Malone threw a personal best in the weight throw with 13.29 meters while Tommy Sease jumped a indoor high jump personal best of 1.73 meters and an all time personal best in the shot put of 12.81 meters.
"Overall it was a very productive and successful day for us," said Head Coach Chris Creal. "We came in with the attitude to compete and do their best and I was satisfied with the results. It is still early season for us but we are on the right track for progression in our performances."
Mason Frank finished 6th in the 60 Meter Dash with a time of 7.39 and Tucker Beck finished 7th with a time of 7.49. In the 200 Meter Dash, Beck finished 5th with a time of 24.24 while Reed finished 6th with a time of 24.31 and Mason Schram finished 9th with a time of 25.23.
Aidan Theard finished 10th in the Mile Run with a time of 4:43.75 while Sease finished 8th in the 60 Meter Hurdles with a time of 10.86.
In the High Jump, Torgerson finished 4th with a jump of 1.78 meters and Sease finished 6th with a jump of 1.73 meters.
Beau Ackerman and Sease tied for 7th in the Pole Vault with jumps of 3.20 meters.
Reed finished 3rd in the Long Jump with a distance of 6.27 meters while Zach Girard finished 5th with 5.97 meters and Ackerman finished 6th with a jump of 5.93 meters.
In the Triple Jump, Torgerson finished 3rd with a distance of 12.77 meters while Tyler Quilling finished 4th with a jump of 12.52 meters.
Malone finished 5th in the Shot Put with a distance of 13.91 meters and Season finished 10th with a distance of 12.81 meters.
In the Weight Throw, Malone finished 8th with a throw of 13.29 meters.
