SPEARFISH, SD- The Dickinson State University Men's Track & Field team competed at the Dave Little Invite on the campus of Black Hills State University on Saturday.
Dobitz also placed 8th in the 200m with a time of 23.75.
James Smith ran a season best in the 800 meter dash with a time of 2:14.88.
Jose Chorro won the 60m Hurdles with a time of 8.39, which is a NAIA national qualifying mark and personal best.
Josh Torgerson won the high jump with a mark of 1.88m (6'2").
Dickinson went 4th through 8th in the Long Jump. Leading the Blue Hawks in the event was Chorro, who placed 4th with mark of 6.45m (21'2"). Reed had a personal best mark of 6.41m (21'0.5"); placing 5th. Cory Rebel placed 6th, Jay Liggins 7th, and Zach Girard 8th.
Liggins led the Blue Hawks in the Triple Jump with a 3rd place finish and a mark of 13.47m (44'2.5"). Torgerson finished 4th with a mark of 13.30m (43'7.75").
Ty Malone placed 5th in the weight throw with a mark of 13.96m (45'9.75"); which is an all-time personal best for him.
"This weekend there was a lot of work that done in the oval office," stated DSU Head Coach Chris Creal. "It is great to come back within a week and see a bunch of improvement in our performances, especially when our athletes can walk away with personal best. This team is really starting to shape out and some of these performances are definitely going to be placing our athletes high within the conference ranks for their events."
