MADISON, S.D. – Dickinson State (N.D.) swept the second edition of the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Cross Country Runners-of-the-Week, announced by the conference office Tuesday. Austyn Copp was selected as Women's Runner-of-the-Week, while Aidan Theard was chosen as Men's Runner-of-the-Week.
NSAA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Austyn Copp – Dickinson State (N.D.) – Sophomore – Glendive, Mont. – Copp of Dickinson State (N.D.) finished 17th out of 82 runners in the Minnesota State-Moorhead Dragon Twilight. She clocked a time of 15 minutes, 22 seconds in the women's 4K race. Copp was the second fastest NAIA runner as the Blue Hawks was the top NSAA conference place finisher in the meet.
NSAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Aidan Theard – Dickinson State (N.D.) – Sophomore – Anaconda, Mont. – Theard of Dickinson state (N.D.) was the fastest runner by any runners from the NSAA conference as he finished fourth individually in the Minnesota State-Moorhead Dragon Twilight meet. He clocked a time of 19 minutes, 15 seconds in the men's 6K race Twilight meet. A total of 46 runners competed in the meet.
Viterbo (Wis.) will be the only NSAA conference member to see cross country action this week. The V-Hawks will be competing in the National Catholic Championships on Sept. 18.
Waldorf (Iowa), Dickinson State (N.D.) and Valley City State (N.D.) won't return back to action on Sept. 26 as they participate in one of the premier events in the Midwest area – the Roy Griak Invitational.
Jamestown (N.D.) and Dakota State (S.D.) take two weeks off before heading to Brookings, S.D. on Oct. 3 to run in the South Dakota State Classic.
