MADISON, S.D. – Dickinson State (N.D.) swept the fourth edition of the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Cross Country Runners-of-the-Week, announced by the conference office Tuesday. Brittney Grove was selected as Women's Runner-of-the-Week, while Jeffrey Segovia was chosen as Men's Runner-of-the-Week.
NSAA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Brittney Grove – Dickinson State (N.D.) – Freshman – Billings, Mont. – Grove ran her first-ever 6K race and finished 128th out of 360 runners for Dickinson State (N.D.) in the Roy Griak Invitational. She clocked a time of 25 minutes, 49 seconds to help the Blue Hawks gain a 30th place finish out of 37 teams. Grove was the second fastest NSAA finisher in the race.
NSAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Jeffrey Segovia – Dickinson State (N.D.) – Senior – Phoenix, Ariz. – Segovia led Dickinson State (N.D.) to their second-highest place finisher at the Roy Griak Invitational, placing 22nd as a team out of 37 teams in the race. He ran a time of 26 minutes, 51 seconds to finish 22nd out of 392 runners in the Men's Maroon Division II race. Segovia's time is 71 second personal record. He was the third fastest NAIA and top NSAA runner in the 8K race.
Viterbo (Wis.) returns back to action on Oct. 2 as they run in the Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational.
Both Dakota State (S.D.) and Jamestown (N.D.) heads to Brookings, S.D. for their next meet on Oct. 3 as they participate in the South Dakota State Classic.
