Whitehall, MT 4x All-State Runner Signs with Blue Hawk Men's Cross Country

DICKINSON, ND- Dickinson State University Head Cross Country Coach, Ben Shroyer, is excited to announce the signing of Hunter Flynn to the Men's Cross Country Team.

Hunter is from Whitehall, Montana and just graduated from Whitehall High School with a 3.6 GPA. Hunter served as Class President, Student Council Vice President, and received High Honor Roll all four years at Whitehall. He plans to major in Political Science at Dickinson State University and is the son of Jon & Kim Flynn.

Hunter is a 4x All-State Cross Country selection, with a highest individual finish of 4th place overall at the 2016 Class B MHSA State Cross Country Championships. He was also a 2x All-State Track & Field selection in 2016 finishing 5th in the 1600m run and 6th in the 3200m run. Hunter's personal records are: 3 mile (XC) - 16:18, 3200- 10:19, and 1600- 4:37.

Hunter has received Academic All-State honors all four years at Whitehall and his hobbies include hunting and fishing, throwing a lasso, and being an Eagle Scout.

"We are excited for Hunter to join our men's team this fall," stated Shroyer. "I anticipate Hunter vying for a spot within our Top 7. After nine weeks of summer training in the Jefferson Valley, he will transition well to the 8k distance. Hunter has had a successful high school cross country career, finishing 4th (senior), 5th (junior), 11th (sophomore), and 11th (freshman) at the State Meet. He has shown he can perform at a high level during championship level competition. I look forward to seeing what Hunter can bring to our program in 2017."
