CALDWELL, Idaho – After falling in game one against Cal State San Marcos, the Blue Hawks will look to battle back against the College of Idaho at 1 p.m. in an elimination game.
Dickinson State's offense scuffled against San Marcos, recording just four hits. Regan Lawrence roped a pair of doubles. Olcott had a hit and the lone RBI. Lawrence took to the circle and tossed seven innings. She allowed a pair of homeruns. The Blue Hawks will look to find more offensive production against the Yotes in order to stay alive in the NAIA Opening Round.
No. 4 seed Dickinson State will play the No. 3 seed College of Idaho. The Yotes were trounced by No. 2 seed Oregon Tech on Monday (May 12), 10-2. The Yotes managed just four hits, while scratching across a run in both the second and third innings. Oregon Tech struck for two crooked innings, putting up five runs in the third and four in the fifth.
Briana Brace has been the offensive leader for the Yotes this season. She is hitting at a clip of .367 with five homeruns. She has also driven in 29 runs. Alexis Macias leads College of Idaho with 33 runs batted in. Paige Gabiola has matched Brace's five homeruns to tie for the team high.
In the circle for the Yotes, Nickayla Skinner has posted a record of 20-8 with an ERA of 1.90 over 165.2 innings. She has struck out 214 hitters. As a team, the Yotes' staff has a batting average against of .257.
College of Idaho has posted a record of 29-16 overall and 19-9 in conference play.
