The Blue Hawks (4-1,0-0) topped #13 ranked Olivet Nazarene 7-3. Alex Watson got the start pitching 3 complete innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits, 1 walk and she struck out 3. Regan Lawrence came into relief in the bottom of the 4th inning. Lawrence finished the game pitching 4 innings giving up 1 run on 2 hits and striking out four.

The Blue Hawks took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the 2nd inning on an RBI single by Janell LaRont. The Tigers answered back in the bottom of the third after a walk and a 2 run homerun by first basemen Erika Tatum.

In the top of the 5th inning the Blue Hawk offense came alive after a leadoff single up the middle by Claudia Torres.  With one out Morgan Glowa singled and leadoff batter McKennzie Keobbie drew a walk to load the bases. In the following at bat Monique Yslas drew an RBI walk to tie the game at 2 all. Rebecca Lopez followed with a deep sacrifice fly to center field that scored Glowa and Kenobbie giving the Hawks a 4-2 lead.

Lawrence held the Tigers scoreless until the bottom of the 6th when they scored one run off a triple by Ashley McKnight. However it wasn't enough.

In the top half of the 7th inning the Hawks secured their lead adding 3 insurance runs putting them up 7-3.  The Blue Hawk offense was led by Alex Vargas who was 2-3 with 2 runs scored an RBI. Janell LaRont was 2-4 with 1 run scored and 1 RBI. Claudia Torres was 3-4.

In the second game of the day the Blue Hawks (5-1, 0-0) came from behind to beat University of British Columbia, 6-5. The Thunderbirds of BC took an early 3-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning forcing the Blue Hawks to play from behind all game. The Hawks chipped away and capitalizing on British Columbia's five errors scoring runs in the bottom half of the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th inning to get the victory.

Regan Lawrence (3-1) went the distance pitching 7 innings giving up 4 earned runs on 9 hits and 1 walk. Although the Thunderbirds hit the ball, the Hawk defense played solid behind Lawrence committing no errors.

After tying the game in the bottom of the 3rd on a double by Lawrence, the Thunderbirds scored 2 in the top of the 4th to take the 5-3 lead on a 2 RBI single by lead-off batter Yasmin Bains.

Scoring one in the bottom of the 5th the Hawks got to within one.  With one out in the bottom of the 7th the Hawks scored 2 runs to secure the victory. Rebecca Lopez started the inning flying out to the short-stop. With one out Alex Vargas drew a walk. Janell LaRont singled to right field advancing Vargas to third. With an empty base the Thunderbirds intentially walked hot hitting Regan Lawrence to load the bases and a chance for a force out at the plate. Claudia Torres came to the plate and drove a single up the middle scoring Vargas to tie the game. On the same play LaRont was waved home for the win but was thrown out at the plate. Lawrence advanced to 3rd on the hit and throw. Taylor Ursel game to the plate with the game tied at 5 all and a runner on 1st and 3rd. Ursel laced a 2-0 pitch over the centerfielders head to give the Hawks the win.

The Blue Hawks offense was led by Regan Lawrence who was 2-3 with 1 runs scored and 3 RBI's. McKenzie Kenobbie was 2-4 with 2 runs scored. Rebecca Lopez, Claudia Torres and Taylor Ursel all recorded and RBI.

The Blue Hawks move to 5-1 on the season and will take on Mount Marty (4-3) at 1:30 and Huntington (0-0) at 3:30 on Sunday March 15th.
