The Blue Hawks (6-1, 0-0) beat Mount Marty University 10-2 in 6 innings. Tiffany Morgan got the start and pitched 3 innings giving up 2 runs on 3 hits and walked 3. Alex Watson came into relief in the top of the 4th innings and pitched 2 complete innings giving up 1 hit and striking out none.

The Lancers of Mount Marty took an early 2-0 lead but the Hawks offense came alive in the bottom of the 4th innings when they scored 5 runs on 4 hits and 2 Mount Marty errors. Regan Lawrence started the scoring surge when she hit a single to left field that was miss played and allowed her to advance to third. Claudia Torres followed with a base hit single to score Lawrence and get the Hawks on the board. Taylor Ursel hit a sacrifice bunt and Brooke Schmitt who was pitch running for Torres advanced to second. A pass ball by Megan Meister advanced Schmitt to third. Monique Yslas reached on a walk. Morgan Glowa tripled down the left field line scoring Schmitt and Yslas giving the Hawks a 3-2 lead. McKenzie Kenobbie laid down a safety squeeze and scored Glowa on third. Alex Vargas finished the scoring drive with a RBI double to score Lopez who reached on a Lancer error. After 4 complete innings the Hawks took the 5-2 lead.

In the top of the 5th, Watson shut down the Lancers in order.

The Hawks offense came alive again in the bottom of the 5th inning when they scored 5 runs to finish the game by the mercy rule.

The Hawks offense was led by Rebecca Lopez who was 3-4 with 2 runs scored. Claudia Torres was 2-4 with 3 RBI's. Morgan Glowa finished the game going 2-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI's. Janell LaRont added 2 RBI's and had 1 run scored.

In the second game of the day the Blue Hawks (6-2, 0-0) took on Huntington University (1-1). In a close pitchers dual. Although the Blue Hawks had 8 hits, offense couldn't support the stellar performance from starting pitcher Regan Lawrence (3-2).  Lawrence went the distance in the circle pitching 7 innings giving up 2 runs on 7 hits and striking out 6.

Huntington took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Both teams remained scoreless until the 6th inning. The only run scored by the Blue Hawks was a solo home run by Janell LaRont in the top of the 6th to tie the game at 1 all. 

Huntington answered back in the bottom half of the inning with two outs.  Second baseman Katie DePew broke open the inning with a single to shallow right field.  Bess Fiechter followed with a shot out to left field, which was miss-played, allowing DePew to score, while Feichter stretched to third she was tagged out by LaRont at the base, ending the inning.

Hawks had a chance to tie in the 7th when Monique Yslas hit a double up the middle with one out. The Blue Hawks could not answer back and push a run across falling to Huntington 1-2.

The offense was led by Janell LaRont who was 2 for 3 with one home run and 1 RBI. Monique Yslas was 3 for 3 with a single, a double, and a triple.

The Blue Hawks will now face University of Minnesota Crookston (NCAA II) at 11:00am, Oklahoma Wesleyan at 1:30pm and close out the first half of their spring trip with Huntington at 6:00pm on Monday March 16th.
