MADISON, S.D. – The 2015 North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Softball Conference Postseason Tournament brackets had been set for May 1-3, 2015. Dakota State (S.D.) will be this year's tournament host and all games will take place at Thue Softball Complex.
Top seed and regular-season champion Jamestown (N.D.) (33-12 overall record, 18-2 NSAA conference record) will play No. 6 seed Dakota State (5-32, 4-16 NSAA) to kick off the NSAA Tournament Opening Round on Friday, May 1 at 9 a.m.
The other two opening round games on Friday feature No. 2 seed Dickinson State (36-9, 17-3 NSAA) taking on No. 5 seed Mayville State (N.D.) (6-30, 5-15 NSAA) at 11 a.m. At 1 p.m., No. 3 seed Valley City State (N.D.) (22-20, 9-11 NSAA) plays No. 4 seed Presentation (S.D.) (19-31, 7-13 NSAA).
The NSAA Softball Tournament will be played according to the NAIA-Softball Coaches' Association Six-Team Double-Elimination Bracket. The tournament champion receives an automatic berth to the NAIA Softball National Championship Opening Round, which will be played on May 11-13 at ten different campus announced by the NAIA. The NAIA Softball World Series takes place in Sioux City, Iowa on May 22-28.
The postseason runs through Sunday, May 3 with the championship game. Pairings may need to be adjusted after the outcomes of Game 5 and 6 on Friday.
