DICKINSON, N.D. – The Blue Hawks fell to Montana Tech on Saturday (Jan. 25) in a Frontier Conference matchup, 75-59. Dickinson State is now 13-10 on the year, with a 3-5 conference record.
The Orediggers were led by Mandy Machinal, who tallied 17 points, and Sophia Baetz (13). Both Machinal and Baetz hit three three-pointers. Callee Remsen recorded 11 points, one block, and one steal. Hattie Thatcher had a team high five steals. Montana Tech hit 11 three-pointers in 27 attempts. They finished with 17 turnovers, 37 rebounds, and a shooting percentage of 50.
Sophomore guard TaRicka Linzy put up a team high 18 points, including four three-pointers. Senior Jess Bygate picked up 11 points and four rebounds for the Blue Hawks. JuniorJa'Lisa Gatlin led Dickinson State with six rebounds and five steals. Junior guardKeshawnee Alley had the lone block for the Blue Hawks. Dickinson State finished with 27 rebounds, six three-pointers, 14 steals, and a shooting percentage of 38.2.
The Blue Hawks will be back on the court on Thursday (Jan. 30) for Coaches vs. Cancer Night. Dickinson State will play host to Westminster. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in Scott Gymnasium.
