Blue Hawks fall to Montana Tech, 72-57

DICKINSON, N.D. – Four Blue Hawks tallied 10 or more points, but they could not hold off Montana Tech.  The Diggers downed Dickinson State 72-57.  The Blue Hawks are now 12-8 overall and 2-3 in Frontier Conference matchups.

Mandy Machinal pulled in 21 points to lead the Diggers on offense.  Kabri Emerson led Montana Tech with nine rebounds.  Every player for the Diggers recorded at least one point.  Montana Tech finished with 42 rebounds, 15 assists, 18 turnovers, and a shooting percentage of 59.2.

Senior Jess Bygate led the Blue Hawks with 14 points, followed closely by senior Mariah Duranwith 12 points.  Junior guard Ja'Lisa Gatlin finished with 11 points and sophomore TaRicka Linzyrecorded 10 points.  Linzy also had a team high four assists.  Gatlin led Dickinson State with six rebounds.  The Blue Hawks finished with 23 rebounds, 10 assists, 10 steals, and a shooting percentage of 35.

Dickinson State will be back on the court on Jan. 17 when they travel to the University of Great Falls.  Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
