No. 3 Westminster tops Blue Hawks, 70-45

DICKINSON, N.D. – The Blue Hawks fell to No. 3 Westminster College on Thursday (Jan. 30) in a Frontier Conference game, 70-45.  Dickinson State is now 13-11 overall and 3-6 in conference play.

Kelsi Wells recorded 19 points for the Griffins and Alli Winters notched 15.  Tia Pappas picked up 12 and had six steals.  Wells not only led in points, but she also pulled in a team high seven rebounds.  Alli Blake moved the ball around for Westminster and finished with six assists.  The Griffins finished with 26 rebounds, 16 assists, and a shooting percentage of 44.

Junior guard Keshawnee Alley led the Blue Hawks with 16 points and seven rebounds.  Senior center Jess Bygate registered 10 points for Dickinson State.  Senior Dawne Degel notched five points and a team high three steals.  Junior Ja'Lisa Gatlin led the Blue Hawks with three assists.  Dickinson State finished with 29 rebounds, seven assists, four blocks, 14 steals, and a shooting percentage of 45.2.

The Blue Hawks will be back on the court on Saturday (Feb. 1) when the host the University of Montana-Western on Hank Biesiot Night.  Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
