DICKINSON, N.D. – Dickinson State defeated the University of Winnipeg on Sunday (Dec. 15), 70-64. The Blue Hawks are now 10-3 on the season.
The Wesmen were led by Megan Noonan who scored 18 points, 12 of which were recorded from beyond the three-point arc. Stephanie Kleysen finished with 16 points and a team high 11 rebounds. Noonan played 38:09, while Kleysen finished with 33:58. Winnipeg struggled all game with shooting accuracy, as they shot just 29.7% overall. The Wesmen recorded 52 total rebounds, including 25 offensive rebounds, but could not consistently convert their second chances.
Sophomore guard TaRicka Linzy once again led the way for Dickinson State. Linzy finished with 21 points and five rebounds. Linzy was four-for-nine from beyond the three-point line and recorded two steals in 26:14. Junior forward Ashley Kennedy finished with 11 points and five rebounds. Freshman guard Rachael McDonough led the Blue Hawks with seven rebounds. The Blue Hawks finished with 42 rebounds, a 33.9 shooting percentage, and 22 steals.
The Blue Hawks do not play again until December 28, when they travel to Winnipeg, Manitoba to play the Wesmen.
