MADISON, S.D. - Jamestown (N.D.) will be the number one seed when the 2015 North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Women's Postseason Basketball Tournament begins on Wednesday, Feb. 25. The Jimmies won the outright title with a 9-1 NSAA conference record. Valley City State (N.D.) will be the two seed and Mayville State (N.D.) three seed. Dickinson State (N.D.) is the No. 4 seed, followed by Dakota State (S.D.) No. 5 seed and Presentation (S.D.) No. 6 seed.
All six NSAA schools will be playing in the quarterfinals round of the NSAA conference tournament on Wednesday, Feb. 25. Jamestown is set to host Presentation at 5:30 p.m. at the Civic Center in Jamestown, N.D. Valley City State hosts Dakota State in Valley City, N.D. and Dickinson State travels to Mayville State in Mayville, N.D. Both of those games are scheduled to start at 7 p.m. local time.
The winning's team with the highest seed in the quarterfinals round will earn a spot in the NSAA Women's Basketball Postseason Conference Tournament's championship game. The date will be determined on a later date. The two remaining teams after the quarterfinals round will battle in the semifinals round, which is slated for Saturday, Feb. 28 at the second highest seed remaining in the conference tournament.
The NSAA Postseason Champion garners an automatic berth to the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Tournament, which is held at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa on March 11-17.
