Sydney Bentz Signs to Play Volleyball and Basketball for the Blue Hawks

DICKINSON, ND- Sydney Bentz, from Grant County High School, has decided to play Volleyball and Basketball for Dickinson State University.

Sydney's career totals in high school are very impressive. She collected 1869 kills, 457 blocks, 319 aces, and 1066 diggs. She was also a three time All-District 9 Team and All Region 5 team. Bentz was also named two time All-State and two time State All- Tournament Team. She was the 2014 District 9 Senior Athlete of the Year as well at the 2014 Region 5 Senior Athlete of the Year.

"Syndey is a very powerful player. She has been a dominant player in the state for the past three years. I look forward to watching her grow as a player and competing for a starting outside hitter position," said Head Volleyball Coach Jon Stenman.

On the basketball side of things, Sydney averaged 16.8 points per game and 11.7 rebounds per game as a senior. She was a five time All-District selesction, four time All-Region selection, and this year was named Region 5 Senior Athlete of the year as well as a 2nd Team All-State selection.

"Sydney had a great five year career at Grant County. Her stats are fantastic and she is also great in the classroom, being named the 2015 Salutatorian for her graduating class," said Head Women's Basketball Coach Mark Graupe.
