Blue Hawk Women's Basketball Takes Down Bobcats in Thriller

DICKINSON, ND- The Dickinson State University Women's Basketball team defeated the Brandon University Bobcats 63-60 after the Bobcats missed on a last second three pointer to tie the game Sunday in Scott Gymnasium.

The Blue Hawks outscored the Bobcats 17-15 in the first quarter and 17-13 in the second quarter, taking a 34-28 lead into the locker room for halftime. 

Dickinson State shot 33 percent from the field and 25 percent from three in the first half while the Bobcats shot 40 percent from the field and 29 percent from three in the first half.

Brandon University fought back in the second half, outscoring the Blue Hawks 17-15 in the third quarter and 15-14 in the fourth quarter but missed a three pointer as time ran out to send the game to overtime.

The Blue hawks finished the game shooting 33 percent from the field, 29 percent from three and 56 percent from the free throw line while the Bobcats shot 36 percent from the field, 15 percent from three and 72 percent from the free throw line.

MacKayla Feeney led the Blue Hawks offense with 16 points while Megan Klein added 13 points and 10 rebounds in the win for the Blue Hawks.

Lauren Anderson led the Bobcats with 16 points while Amy Williams and Alysa Montgomery each added 13 points for the Bobcats in the loss.

Dickinson State is now 3-0, 0-0 NSAA and will host longtime rival the University of Mary on Tuesday night at 5:30 PM (MDT) in Scott Gymnasium.
