DICKINSON, ND- The #22 ranked team in NAIA D2, Dickinson State University, dominated Johnson & Wales 101-66 on Friday night in Scott Gymnasium.
The Blue Hawks took an early lead in the game and never let up. Dickinson State outscored Johnson & Wales 25-14 in the first quarter and 22-12 in the second quarter to take a commanding 47-26 lead into halftime.
Dickinson State shot 43 percent from the field and 40 percent from three in the first half while Johnson & Wales shot 29 percent from the field and 20 percent from three.
The Blue Hawks then outscore Johnson & Wales 33-19 in the third quarter and both teams scored 21 points in the fourth quarter.
Dickinson State shot 47 percent from the field, 36 percent from three and 63 percent from the line in the win while Johnson & Wales shot 30 percent from the field, 18 percent from three and 61 percent from the line in the loss.
Dickinson State finished the game with 66 rebounds, 28 assists, 14 turnovers, three blocks and 10 steals while Johnson & Wales recorded 37 rebounds, five assists, 16 turnovers, one block and five steals.
The Blue Hawks continue their homestand tomorrow when they host Trinity Bible College at 5:00 PM (MDT) in Scott Gymnasium.
Dickinson State is now 7-2 and 0-0 NSAA.
