#20 Blue Hawks Take Down Saints, 100-91

ABERDEEN, SD- The Dickinson State University Women's Basketball team defeated the Presentation College Saints, 100-91, on Wednesday night in a NSAA battle.

The Blue Hawks came out on fire, putting up 30 points in the first quarter to take a 30-20 lead after one quarter. The Saint then outscored the Blue Hawks 28-27 in the second quarter but the Blue Hawks took a 57-48 lead into half time.

Dickinson State shot 59 percent from the field and 67 percent from three in the first half while the Saints shot 53 percent from the field and 56 percent from behind the arc.

The Saints came out of halftime and held the Blue Hawks to 12 points in the third quarter while the Saints scored 28. After three quarters the Saints led 76-69.

The Blue Hawks caught fire again in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Saints 31-15 enroute to a 100-91 NSAA victory for the Blue Hawks.

Dickinson State shot 52 percent from the field and 83 percent from three in the second half while Presentation College shot 48 percent from the field and 46 percent from three.

Leslie Beaudoin led the Blue Hawks with 33 points while Ashley Bentz added 17 points. Megan Klein recorded another double double with 16 points and 15 rebounds.

Lorna Shepherd finished with 14 points and Taylor Henningsgard added 12 points in the win.

Haley Froelich led the Saints with 29 points while Macy Toelle added 15 points. Cora Lopez recorded 14 points and Kathryn Thomas finished with 11 points in the loss to Dickinson State.

The Blue Hawks finished the game shooting 56 percent from the field, 73 percent from three and 86 percent from the line with 33 rebounds, 16 assists, 15 turnovers, five blocks and one steal.

The Saints finished the game shooting 50 percent from the field, 50 percent from three and 78 percent from the line with 22 rebounds, 19 assists, 10 turnovers, one block and seven steals.

Dickinson State is now 18-5 overall and 6-1 in NSAA play.

The Blue Hawks return home on Saturday to host the Mayville State University Comets at 4:00 PM (MDT) in Scott Gymnasium.
