Leslie Beaudoin Earns NSAA Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week

MADISON, S.D. – Leslie Beaudoin of Dickinson State (N.D.) was chosen to the twelfth edition of the North Star Athletic Association Women's Basketball Player-of-Week, announced by the conference office Monday.

Leslie Beaudoin – Dickinson State (N.D.) – 5'10" – Junior – Forward – Dickinson, N.D. – Beaudoin led 20th-ranked Dickinson State (N.D.) with 33 points and registered six rebounds, three assists, three blocked shots and a steal in 100-91 road victory at Dickinson State (N.D.).  She shot 13-of-17 from the field, including a perfect 5-of-5 from the 3-point line, and converted 2-of-3 free-throws in the game.  Beaudoin followed up with 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocked shots in 70-65 home victory over Mayville State (N.D.).  For the week, she averaged 22.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 blocks per week as the Blue Hawks went 2-0 record.

Waldorf (Iowa) halted their 16-game losing skid on Feb. 2 as they recorded a 100-98 overtime thriller on the road at Governor State (Ill.).  The Warriors improved to 2-20 overall record (0-10 NSAA conference record—eighth place in the conference standings).

Viterbo (Wis.) split a pair of non-conference road games last week.  The V-Hawks cruised to a 68-39 victory at Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) on Feb. 3, but dropped a 73-59 road contest at Clarke (Iowa) on Feb. 6.  VU is 4-20 overall record (1-7 NSAA record—seventh place in the NSAA conference standings).

Jamestown (N.D.), ranked No. 8 in the latest NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 national poll, remained undefeated in NSAA conference standings with a pair of victories.  The Jimmies held off Dakota State (S.D.) on Feb. 3 by the score of 67-42 and defeated Valley City State (N.D.) 69-54 on Feb. 6.  UJ is 22-4 overall record and is currently on an eight-game winning streak – all in NSAA conference games.

No. 20-ranked Dickinson State (N.D.) also earned a pair of victories last week.  The Blue Hawks rallied back to beat at Presentation (S.D.) in a high-scoring affair by the score of 100-91.  Dickinson State held off the Comets 70-65 on Feb. 6 as part of the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Game-of-the-Week, announced by the NAIA national office.  The Blue Hawks had won three straight games and raised their overall record to 19-5 and 7-1 NSAA record, one-game behind the NSAA conference's leader Jamestown.

Valley City State dominated Mayville State on Feb. 3 by the score of 86-66 in Valley City, N.D.  The Vikings are 13-9 overall record and maintains a third-place in the conference standings with a 6-3 conference record.  The Comets are 14-9 overall record.

Dakota State held off Presentation's late second-half surge for a 72-68 victory on Feb. 6 in Madison, S.D.  The Lady T's moved in a tied for fourth-place with Mayville State in the conference standings with a 5-4 record.  Dakota State is 13-12 overall record, while the Saints are 6-15 overall record and 3-6 NSAA conference record (sixth-place in the conference standings).

Looking Ahead This Week
Waldorf (Iowa) returns home Monday (tonight) as they welcome Mount Mercy (Iowa) in a non-conference contest.

On Wednesday, Viterbo (Wis.) hosts the nationally-ranked No. 15 Cardinal Stritch (Wis.) for a non-conference game.  Three North Star Athletic Association conference games will be in action on the same night with Dakota State (S.D.) traveling to Mayville State (N.D.), Jamestown (N.D.) hosting Presentation (S.D.) and Dickinson State (N.D.) visiting Valley City State (N.D.).

On Saturday, the Warriors visit Clarke (Iowa) while the V-Hawks remain at home versus Trinity Christian (Ill.).  Three NSAA conference games remain in action as the Lady T's kick off their three-game home stand versus the Vikings, the Saints returning home versus the Comets and the Jimmies traveling to Dickinson, N.D. to take on the Blue Hawks in the battle of the top two teams in the NSAA conference standings.
