DICKINSON, ND – The Dickinson State University Women's basketball team won against Dakota State on Wednesday night at Scott Gym with a score of 90-58.
The Lady Blue Hawks outscored the Trojans in the first quarter 28-13 and in the second quarter 20-11, taking a 48-24 lead into halftime. Dickinson State outscored Dakota State in every quarter ending the game 90-58.
Total shooting for Lady Blue Hawks was 46 percent form the field, 37 percent from three and 80 percent from the free throw line.
Dakota State shot 38 percent from the field, 22 percent from three and 75 percent from the line.
The Lady Blue Hawks were led by Lorna Shepherd with 26, Ashley Bentz- Laub with 12 followed by Megan Klein with 12 and Taylor Henningsgard with 11. Leading rebounder of the game was Megan Klein with 10 while Taylor Henningsgard ended up with 11 assists.
Olson BreeAna led Dakota State with 13 points followed by Vogl Lindsey with 10.
Dickinson State finished the game with 43 rebounds,19 assists, 11 turnovers and 12 steals while Dakota State finished with 43 rebounds , 7 assists 18 turnovers and 7 steals.
The Blue Hawks are now 6-3 overall and 3-1 NSAA while Dakota State falls at 1-10 and 0-4 in league play.
The next game for the Lady Blue Hawks is Monday 2 PM (MDT) against Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, CA.
