COSTA MESA, CA – The Dickinson State University Women's basketball team lost to Vanguard University on Monday afternoon with a score of 93-65.
The Lady Blue Hawks lost the first quarter 20-19 and in the second quarter the score was 25-12 for Vanguard as well, ending the half with a score of 45-31. Vanguard won both third and fourth quarter and ended up winning the contest by 93-65.
Total shooting for Lady Blue Hawks was 44 percent from the field, 55 percent from three and 73 percent from the free throw line.
Vanguard shot 47 percent from the field, 54 percent from three and 58 percent from the line.
The Lady Blue Hawks were led by Lorna Shepherd with 22, Paitton Herbst with 16 followed by Taylor Henningsgard with 14. Leading rebounder of the game was Megan Klein with 16 while Taylor Henningsgard ended up with 8 assists.
Claire Lamunu led Vanguard with 25 points followed by Maya Kennedy with 24.
Dickinson State finished the game with 36 rebounds, 13 assists, 21 turnovers and 1 steals while Vanguard finished with 37 rebounds, 23 assists 4 turnovers and 15 steals.
The Blue Hawks are now 6-4 overall and 3-1 NSAA while Vanguard is 11-1.
The next game for the Lady Blue Hawks is against Saint Katherine 12 PM (Pacific Time) at Saint Marcos CA.
