Blue Hawks beat Warriors 78-51

FOREST CITY, IA – The Dickinson State University Women's basketball team won against Waldorf College on Friday night with a score of 78-51.

The Lady Blue Hawks won first quarter 26-14 and in the second quarter the score was 14-9 for Dickinson State , ending the half with a score of 40-23. Dickinson State won third and in the fourth quarter it was tie 18-18 with the final score 78-51.

Total shooting for Lady Blue Hawks was 44 percent from the field, 35 percent from three and 72 percent from the free throw line.

Waldorf shot 34 percent from the field, 34 percent from three and 68 percent from the line.

The Lady Blue Hawks were led by Megan Klein with 16, Taylor Henningsgard with 12 and Lorna Shepherd had 11, Megan Klein hauled in 14 rebounds while Taylor Henningsgard had game high 8 assits.

Morgan Strainght led Waldorf with 13 points followed by Samantha Birkes with 13 as well.

Dickinson State finished the game with 39 rebounds, 22 assists, 12 turnovers and 14 steals while Waldorf finished with 29 rebounds, 12 assists 25 turnovers and 6 steals.

The Blue Hawks are now 9-5 overall and 4-1 NSAA.

The next game for the Lady Blue Hawks is against Viterbo University at 2:00 PM (Mountain Time) on January 7th in LaCrosse , WI.
