Blue Hawks dominate Lions

DICKINSON, ND -  The Dickinson State University Women's basketball team defeated Trinity Bible on Tuesday night by a score of 111-53.

The Lady Blue Hawks outscored the Lions in the first quarter 35-11 and in the second quarter 17-10 ending the half with a score of 52-21. Dickinson State then outscored Trinity Bible in the third 35-13 and 24-19 in the fourth quarter for a final score of 111-53.

Total shooting for Lady Blue Hawks was 53 percent from the field, 30 percent from three and 66 percent from the free throw line.

Trinity Bible shot 33 percent from the field, 30 percent from three and 83 percent from the line.

The Lady Blue Hawks were led by Sydney Bentz with 15, Samantha Morgan with 14 and MacKayla Feeney finished with 11. Megan Klein hauled in 8 rebounds while Rachael McDonough had game high 8 assists.

Steinheuser Shaylin led Trinity Bible with 20 points followed by Newman Jaylen with 17.

Dickinson State finished the game with 49 rebounds, 25 assists, 11 turnovers and 8 steals while Trinity Bible finished with 32 rebounds, 11 assists 10 turnovers and 6 steals.

The Blue Hawks are now 11-5 overall and 5-1 NSAA.

The next game for the Lady Blue Hawks is against Ogalala Lakota College on January 11th at 5:30 PM (MDT) in Scott Gym.
