BELLEVUE, NE - The Dickinson State University Women's basketball team defeated Bellevue University on Friday afternoon by a score of 63-61.
The Lady Blue Hawks outscored Waldorf in the first quarter 21-16 and in the second quarter it was 16-8 for the Lady Bruins ending the half with a score of 32-29 for Bellevue. Dickinson State then outscored Bruins in the third 11-8 and 23-21 in the fourth quarter for a final score of 63-61.
Total shooting for Lady Blue Hawks was 43 percent from the field, 38 percent from three and 80 percent from the free throw line.
Bellevue shot 40 percent from the field, 41 percent from three and 70 percent from the line.
The Lady Blue Hawks were led by Ashley Bentz- Laub with 18 and Lorna Shepherd with 12. Megan Klein hauled in 13 rebounds while Taylor Henningsgard had game high 7 assists.
Caletria Curtis led Bruins with 15 points followed by Ryleigh McCartney with 13.
Dickinson State finished the game with 37 rebounds, 15 assists, 18 turnovers and 10 steals while Bellevue finished with 28 rebounds, 17 assists 16 turnovers and 8 steals.
The Blue Hawks are now 19-5 overall and 12-1 NSAA.
The next game for the Lady Blue Hawks is against Grace University on February 4th at 1:00 PM (CDT) in Omaha, NE.
