Blue Hawks pound Grace University

OMAHA, NE -  The Dickinson State University Women's basketball team defeated Grace University on Saturday afternoon by a score of 76-24.

The Lady Blue Hawks outscored Grace in the first quarter 23-4 and in the second quarter it was 16-10 for the Lady Hawks ending the half with a score of 39-14 for Lady Blue Hawks. Dickinson State then outscored Grace in the third 20-5 and 17-5 in the fourth quarter for a final score of 76-24.

Total shooting for Lady Blue Hawks was 43 percent from the field, 26 percent from three and 87 percent from the free throw line.

Grace shot 27 percent from the field, 10 percent from three and 50 percent from the line.

The Lady Blue Hawks were led by  Kate Golding with 18 and Paitton Herbst with 9. Kate Golding hauled in 9 rebounds while Taylor Henningsgard  had game high 5 assists.

Kayla Bloodworth led Grace with 11 points followed by Miyesha Ward 9.

Dickinson State finished the game with 37 rebounds, 15 assists, 10 turnovers and 10 steals while Grace finished with 28 rebounds, 5 assists 27 turnovers and 5 steals.

The Blue Hawks are now 20-5 overall and 13-1 NSAA.

The next game for the Lady Blue Hawks is against Dakota State on February 10th at 5:30 (CDT) in Madison, SD.
