WAVERLY, Iowa – Blue Hawk Golf wrapped up their season with the North Star Athletic Association Conference Tournament at Prairie Links Golf Course. The two rounds hosted in Waverly paired with the two NSAA rounds in the fall combined for the totality of the conference tournament. The women's team finished fourth in the conference with a 1,468-stroke total and the men's team finished fifth with a 1,355 total.
The windy conditions of the Iowa farmland proved a difficult test for many. On the women's side, Junior, Riley Helmick led the Blue Hawks with rounds of 84 and 88. With her 182-total from the fall rounds, Helmick finished 13thamongst the North Star competition, receiving honorable mention All-Conference. With rounds of 94 and 87 Kittleson finished just behind Helmick, at 15th in the North Star. Breilyn Riggin trailed with 87 and 94 finishing 17thin the four rounds. Jace Steier and Natalee Hafer did not trail far behind. The pair of Blue Hawks finished 20thand 22ndrespectively.
On the men's side, Carter Klein led the Blue Hawks through the four rounds. The Freshman from Bismarck tallied scores in the 70's three out of the four conference rounds. His 320-total placed him 23rdin the NSAA. Following Klein, Parker Robinson scored a four-round total of 339. The rounds finished Robinson in 26thplace. Jaret Lee and Zach Miller finished the tournament in 27thand 28thplace in the North Star.
The finale of the North Star Athletic Association Conference Tournament finishes the Blue Hawk's short spring season. The schedule for the 2018-2019 season will be released in the summer.
