2018 DSU Wrestling Recruiting Class

Head Coach Justin Schlecht has signed seven to the 2018 Blue Hawk wrestling team. “ Myself and the rest of the DSU Wrestling Coaching staff is excited about this group of student-athletes.  They all bring great attributes that fit our current group of returners very well.  We only graduated one senior and add to a strong young team of returners. Blue Hawk Wrestling has a bright future for the years to come.  This great start to a recruiting class has a lot of excitement and dimension.  All of these individuals are hard working guys with great goals ahead of them.  DSU Wrestling will be an exciting group to be around and a part of with student-athletes like these.”

 

Rodolfo (Rudy) Guillen

Rudy will be joining DSU Wrestling in the Fall of 2018.  Rudy is a transfer from University of Mary where he had a successful beginning to his collegiate career.  He has been ranked as high as #2 in NCAA Div II.  In High School Rudy was a two-time Georgia state placer that included a State Championship his Junior year at 145#’s.  Rudy is also competitive with International Wrestling, in 2017 he placed 3rd in Greco-Roman at the Dave Schultz Tournament, earning him a US World Team Trials opportunity.  Rudy is a Physical Education Major that does well in the classroom as well as the mat.

Cody Warner

Cody will also join the Blue Hawk wrestling team in the fall of 2018.  Cody is originally from Frenchtown Montana but attended North Idaho Junior College for the past 2 years.  In High School Cody was a 4x State Placer.  He is a member of the Montana National Guard.  Cody is a History Education Major with a great GPA of 3.25.  Cody will add experience and lots of competitiveness to the team in the mid-upper weights.

Triston Stuhr

Tristen Joins the Blue Hawk wrestling team from Buckeye Union High School in Arizona.  Triston comes from a great family with excellent core values and a very good work ethic.  Triston has learned very quickly in his short wrestling career beginning only in his freshman year.  He has made lots of valuable gains.  Triston is an Accounting major with great academic history.

Koletan Hafey

 

Koletan has the privilege of staying close to home and continuing to build the positive relationship with the local high school here in Dickinson, Koletan comes from Dickinson High.  Koletan finished his Senior year with several team awards and a 5th place finish at the North Dakota State Tournament.  Koletan is a Science major with the intention to work towards a career in the Chiropractic field.  Koletan will add to the smaller weights in the wrestling room and do an excellent job of working hard on and off the mat to create an exciting future as a BlueHawk wrestler.

Leif Erickson

 

Leif Joins the Blue Hawk wrestling team from Alaska.  Leif had a great high school career wrestling for Nome Alaska.  While competing for the Nanooks he was a 2x Alaska State Champion.  After High School Leif had a brief stint of going to college in Anchorage Alaska before realizing how important the sport of wrestling is to him and his future.  Leif is dedicated in the weight room and always growing technically on the mat.  Leif will Join the Hawks in the middle weights and add a high level of competitiveness.  Leif is a Physical Education major.

“Leif is a great person and a very dedicated athlete.  He has a great family support system that will help and allow him to accomplish great things while earning his degree and reaching his goals as a BlueHawk wrestler.”

Devin Stork

Devin will be joining the Blue Hawks in the fall of 2018.  Devin will compete in the 184 lb weight class.  Devin is a talented wrestler that works hard in the weight room, wrestling room and on the mat.  Devin is a 3x SD state place winner, as well as a USA All-American.  After Devin finished his great High School career he attended Chadron State College, where he competed as a varsity team member and gained some valuable experience.  He was also on the Dean list while at Chadron State.  Devin is a Criminal Justice major.

Kyle Anderson

Kyle Joins the BlueHawk team in the fall of 2018, he will also be entering into the TR Honors Program.  Kyle is an excellent Student athlete that works hard and is determined to improve himself on and off the mat.  Kyle has 101 Career High School wins and placed 4th at the Montana State High School tournament his Senior year.  Kyle intends to major in Business.  Kyle will add competetivness and depth to the upper weights to the Hawk Wrestling Squad.
