Hastings, Neb. – The Lady Blue Hawks finished third, but less than 40 points out of first. Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture’s women won with 300 points. The Lady Yellow Jackets were second with 270, right ahead of DSU’s 263.
Bobbi Grann picked up her seventh win out of nine rodeos in the goat tying with an 8.3 in the long go and a best of the rodeo 7.7 to win the short go and the average.
Skye Schaper’s 8.3 split fourth in the long go of the goats and was sixth in the average. Schaper also capitalized on her short go opportunity in the barrel racing, improving her 18.25 in the long go to 17.98 run the short for fourth in that round and also the average.
Cassie Kohlnhofer also picked up points for fourth in the long go of the barrels with an 18.16.
The Blue Hawks host the final rodeo of the Great Plains Region season at the outdoor arena on State Avenue May 8 and 9 with slack at 1:00 pm Friday, performances at 6:00 pm Friday and 1:00 pm Saturday and the short go performance at 6:00 pm Saturday.
