Women Take Fourth at Mid-Plains

North Platte, NE – The DSU Rodeo Women's Team took home a fourth place finish last weekend in North Platte, NE, at the Mid-Plains Community College Rodeo. The women captured 175 points while first place finisher Black Hills State University captured 514 points.

Bringing in the points for DSU was Jami Derflinger, a sophomore, who finished second in the barrel racing. With difficult ground conditions, Derflinger managed to run an 18.50 in the long round to tie for second. She sped up her time in the short round with an 18.22 to place second in the round and second in the average.

Goat tier Allisha Dworshak made an outstanding run in the long go with a 7.8 to earn fourth in the round. She had a little tough luck in short round, tying her goat in 9.6, which was too long to place in the average.

The Hawks travel next to Iowa for a double header in Ames and Fort Dodge September 29-October 2, 2016.
