Nekuda resigns as head track and field and cross country coach

DICKINSON, N.D. – Dickinson State University Head Track and Field and Cross Country CoachMike Nekuda has resigned to pursue family interests, effective on May 31, 2014.

Nekuda has spent the past three years at Dickinson State as the head coach for cross country.  The past two years he was the assistant track and field coach under Pete Stanton, before taking over in 2014.

Nekuda led three Blue Hawks to cross country all-conference performances during their inaugural season in the Frontier Conference. These three athletes also competed at the NAIA National Cross Country Championships in Vancouver, WA. 

During the 2014 indoor track and field season, Nekuda helped five Dickinson State athletes to earn All-American honors. 

"We are thankful for everything that Mike has done over the past three years," Tim Daniel, director of intercollegiate athletics, said.  "He has helped both the cross country and track and field programs grow.  We wish Mike and his family the best in their future endeavors."
