DSU Women's Track Finishes 2nd at the NSAA Indoor Conference Meet

MOORHEAD, MN- The Dickinson State University Women's Track team finished 2nd at the North Star Athletic Association Indoor Conference meet.

Freshman Abby Honeyman was named the NSAA Women's Indoor Athlete of the Meet. Honeyman competed in five events and placed in the top 3 of each event. She took 1st in the Long Jump with a mark of 4.89m (16'0.5''). She ran the 200m race finishing 2nd with a time of 27.35, the 60 meter hurdles placing 2nd with a time of 9.66 and also placed 2nd with teammates Shayna Tonderum, Mardee Clarke and Stormie Sickler in the 4x400 with a time of 4:32.88.

Sophomore Whitney Leuenbergertook 1st in the shot put with a throw of 12.91m (42'4.25''). Her throw qualified her for the NAIA National Indoor Track and Field Meet.

National qualifying athletes will now travel to Geneva, Ohio to compete in the NAIA National Indoor Track and Field meet which is set to begin March 5th.
