Seven Personal Bests Set at SDSU Open for the DSU Women's Track & Field Team

BROOKINGS, SD- The Dickinson State University Women's Track & Field team had a tremendous day on Saturday at the SDSU Open.

"We had a great showing over the weekend," stated Dickinson State University Head Track & Field Coach, Chris Creal.  "The team came in ready to compete with some of the best programs in the Midwest and our results showed.  This meet also gave us a lot of confidence going into conference as the South Dakota State facility is where the North Star Indoor Championships will be held.  From here, the goal is to prep ourselves for success at conference."

Six athletes set a personal best on Saturday. Macy Vail in the Weight throw with 38'0.75", Allison Hert in the 200 with a time of 29.80 and in the 400 with a time of 1:07.27.

Brittney Grove in the 5k with a time of 19:44.32, Margaret Martinez also in the 5k with a time of 20:46.39, Amanda Wolff in the 3k with a time of 11:23.93 and in the 800 with a time of 2:31.03.

Paola Silvestre also set a personal best in the 800 with a time of 2:34.46 while Cristina Herrera set a personal best in the mile with a time of 5:43.37 and in the 800 with a time of 2:44.12.

Megan Dailey set a season best mark in the long jump with a distance of 14'1.25" and Shayna Tonderum set a season best time in the 600m with a time of 1:47.60 and in the 400m with a time of 1:03.54.
