DICKINSON, ND- The Dickinson State University Woman's Track & Field team finished 2nd of five teams at their lone home event on Thursday, the 2016 Blue Hawk Games.
Cristina Herrera also came back and won the Women's 5000 meter run with a time of 19:58.44, marking a new career best the event.
Abby Honeyman won the 100 Hurdles with a season best time of 15.08.
Paitton Herbst took first in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 11:32.24; marking a new personal best for her in the event.
Women's 4x400 Meter Relay (consisted of Paitton Herbst, Shayna Tonderum, Leslie Beaudoin, Amanda Wolff) finished second with a time of 4:22.60.
Megan Dailey took second in the high jump with a mark of 1.59m (5'2.50").
Whitney Leuenberger placed 2nd in the Shot Put with a mark of 12.64m (41'5.75"). Leuenberger came back and placed 3rd in the Discus Throw with a mark of 40.03m (131' 4").
"It is always exciting to have a home meet and it is even more rewarding when we can walk with season best performances," said DSU Head T&F Coach Chris Creal. "I would like to thank all those who came out to help with the meet as well as those who came to support Dickinson State University Track and Field."
