DICKINSON, ND- The Dickinson State University Women's Track & Field team hosted the Blue Hawk Tune-Up Invite on Friday.
Abby Honeyman won the 100m hurdles with a personal best time of 14.47; which meets the NAIA Automatic Qualifying Standard for the event. Her performance also puts her within the top 10 in the nation. Honeyman also went on to win the 100m dash with a personal best time of 12.39.
Lorna Shepherd won the 200m dash with a personal best time of 26.15.
Paola Silvestre won the 1500m run with a time of 5:23.53.
Paitton Herbst met the NAIA Provisional Qualifying Standard in the 3000m Steeplechase by running a personal best time of 11:21.61. Herbst also went on to win the Javelin Throw with a mark of 36.78m.
Alysse Charlesworth won the Triple Jump with a mark of 11.24m.
Whitney Leuenberger and Macy Vail went 1-2 in the shot put. Leuenberger won the event with a mark of 12.57m and Vail finished 2nd with a mark of 11.29m.
Leuenberger also won the discus throw with a mark of 41.03m.
"It was very exciting to walk away from the meet with a handful of national qualifiers as well as many more personal best," said Head Coach Chris Creal "With us heading into conference, our performances from this meet definitely fueled us with a lot of confidence and excitement for the major competition coming up."
