Shelby McGee named NSAA Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

MADISON, S.D. – The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) has announced its third edition of the Women's Outdoor Track & Field weekly honor Tuesday.  Seri Geisler of Valley City State (N.D.) was selected to Field Athlete-of-the-Week for the second time this season.  Shelby McGee of Dickinson State (N.D.) was chosen to Track Athlete-of-the-Week.

Seri Geisler – Valley City State (N.D.) – Sophomore – Grand Rapids, Minn. – Geisler recorded the nation's top throw this season in NAIA women's javelin as she set new meet and facility records at the Al Bortke Open for Valley City State (N.D.).  Her mark of 49.79 meters (163 feet, 4 inches) won the event by more than 50 feet and broke the old meet record and the Bismarck Community Bowl facility record by more than 10 feet.  Geisler also added a third-place in women's shot put with a throw of 12.97 meters (42 feet, 6.75 inches) and set a new personal record in hammer throw by more than 15 feet (112 feet, 9 inches).

Shelby McGee – Dickinson State (N.D.) – Sophomore – Bowman, N.D. – McGee recorded a pair of top North Star Athletic Association times in the women's 100- and 200-meters for Dickinson State (N.D.) at Al Borke Open in Bismarck, N.D.  She clocked a time of 12.60 seconds in the 100-meter dash, earning sixth-place finish.  McGee added a fifth-place finish in the 200-meters race with a time of 26.15 seconds. 

Looking Ahead
Dakota State (S.D.) and Waldorf (Iowa) travel to Orange City, Iowa for a two-day Red Raider Invitational, kicking off the meet on Wednesday and continues through Thursday.

Jamestown (N.D.) and Valley City State (N.D.) are scheduled to compete in the Northern State (S.D.) Twilight meet on Thursday. 

Dickinson State (N.D.) will host the Blue Hawks Games on Friday.  VCSU is also expected to compete in the meet.

Viterbo (Wis.) won't return back to action until April 21 as they compete in the Phil Esten Challenge.
