Kevin begins his fourth year as an assistant coach at Dickinson State. Coach McElvaney is in charge of the Blue Hawk pole vaulters and multi-event athletes. Under McElvaney the Blue Hawks have achieved amazing success. Kelsey Aide has won three national championships in the pole vault. In addition, several of the multi-event athletes have been conference champions and national qualifiers.

Coach McElvaney completed an outstanding career at Dickinson State in 2007. Kevin was a three time All-American in the pole vault and decathlon, including a runner-up finish in the decathlon in 2006. In addition, Kevin was on two national championship teams and two runner-up teams. McElvaney is a native of Scobey, Montana.
