Road trip soured by Montana Western, 3-0

Dillon, MT -- The Blue Hawks ended their road trip with a loss to the Bulldogs of Montana-Western on Saturday, October 26.  With set scores of 11-25, 18-25, and 18-25 the Blue Hawks will return to Dickinson looking to find their stride.

"We never really got into a rhythm offensively," head coach Jon Stenman said. "We played valiant defense and passed well, but never found any consistent offense."

Freshman Aly Schieno had five kills for the Blue Hawks and freshman Magdalyn Rauser added four.  Senior Kelly O'Connor had 19 assists.  The Blue Hawks tallied 58 digs defensively. With the loss the Blue Hawks fall to 3-21 on the season, with a record of 0-12 in Frontier play.  SeniorMelissa Avila led the defense with 13 digs.  O'Connor, and Natasha Malana each had nine digs.

The Frontier Conference has not been kind to Jon Stenman and his team this year, however, the Blue Hawks have a chance to turn things around as they will play four home matches in a row.  Only one of those matches will be a Frontier matchup.

On Tuesday, October 29, the Blue Hawks will host Mayville State University at 7:00 PM.  Then a Halloween special, the Blue Hawks will host South Dakota School of Mines and Tech. on October 31.  That match is also scheduled for 7:00 PM.
