O'Connor, Schroeder honored as Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes

DICKINSON, N.D. – Seniors Kelly O'Connor and Linaya Schroeder have been selected as Daktronics-NAIA Volleyball Scholar-Athletes.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

O'Connor hails from Sundance, Wyo. and is a mathematics major, with a minor in biology.  She is the daughter of Jim and Sheryl O'Connor.  Kelly picked up 558 assists and 102 kills during the 2013 campaign.  She also led the Blue Hawks with 23 service aces and was second on the team with 327 digs.

Schroeder is from Chamberlin, Sask. and is an exercise science major.  She is the daughter of Ed and Louise Schroeder.  Linaya had 86 kills for the 2013 Blue Hawks in 31 matches.

There were 391 total student-athletes selected for the honor.
