DICKINSON, N.D. – Dickinson State University Head Volleyball Coach Jon Stenman announced today the addition of Brenna Hansen who will join the Blue Hawks from Sheridan College.
Hansen will be attending Dickinson State University in the spring of 2014. The 5-foot-10-inch outside hitter looks to make an immediate impact for the Blue Hawks.
"I'm excited to have Brenna become part of our program," Stenman said. "As a legacy athlete she connects Dickinson State's past with its future. I expect her to flourish as an outside hitter and overall six rotation player here at Dickinson State. I'm excited to watch her grow into a potentially program changing type of player."
Hansen graduated from Powder River County District High School where she was a tri-sport athlete competing in volleyball, basketball, and track. Hansen led Powder River's volleyball team in kills and digs during her senior year. She finished the season atop the Class 3B leaderboard in kills and was second in total digs. Hansen has the Powder River record for most kills in a match, most kills in a season, most kills in a career, and most digs in a match.
Hansen hails from Broadus, Mont. and is the daughter of Dickinson State alumni Jim and Shelley Hansen. During his attendance at Dickinson State Jim played basketball under Sam Milanovich and is enshrined with the 1988 men's basketball team in the Dickinson State University Athletics' Hall of Fame.
