DICKINSON, N.D. – The Blue Hawks fell to Minot State on Wednesday (Sep. 3) in four sets with set scores of: 29-31, 25-21, 11-25, and 15-25. Dickinson State is 0-6 on the season.
The Blue Hawks kept the first set close and managed to force extra points, however the Beavers were able to hang on and take the set. Dickinson State rallied and took the second set before dropping sets three and four.
Jen Dixon finished with 20 kills for the Beavers, followed closely by Mallory Sall with 19. Emily Byrne recorded 54 assists. Dixon led Minot State with 17 digs. As a team, the Beavers finished with 62 kills, 56 assists, 10 aces, six blocks, and 58 digs.
Maddi Johnston recorded a team high nine kills for the Blue Hawks. Miranda Kadrmas finished the match with eight, as did Tessa Sian. Ashleigh Aufforth led the Blue Hawks with 15 assists, while Morgan Lutz recorded 13. Libero Natasha Malana led the way on defense with 19 digs. The Blue Hawks finished with 34 kills, 31 assists, 52 digs, and six blocks.
The Blue Hawks will be back on the road as they head to the Big Sky Challenge for four matches. The first match is scheduled for Friday (Sep. 5) against Montana Tech at 9 a.m.
