RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Blue Hawks travel to South Dakota School of Mines on Tuesday (Sept. 9) looking to stop their current skid.
Currently the Blue Hawks are 0-10 on the season. Dickinson State was swept in its last week of play at the Big Sky Challenge by former conference foes Carroll, Westminster, Great Falls, and Montana Tech.
During the 2013 season, the Blue Hawks were 0-2 against Mines. In their first meeting in Rapid City, Mines took the match by a score of 3-2. Natasha Malana recorded 25 digs in the effort. The first four sets were tight, before Mines jumped out and did not look back in the fifth set. The set scores were: 21-25, 27-25, 22-25, 25-22, 2-15.
In their second meeting in Dickinson, the Blue Hawks took the first set 25-20, before dropping three straight sets 17-25, 19-25, and 10-25. Malana led the Blue Hawks with 18 digs, Justine Braunagel finished with 10.
South Dakota School of Mines is 1-3 on the season, with a combined set record of 3-9.
The match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
