Blue Hawks Fall in Three to Mines

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Blue Hawks took on South Dakota School of Mines on Tuesday (Sept. 9).  Mines came away victorious, 3-0, with set scores of 17-25, 11-25, 16-25.  Dickinson State is now 0-11 on the season.

Samantha Johnson led Mines with 12 kills, followed by Emily Newton with 11.  Carsyn Garcia dished out 36 assists.  Kylee Gorngpratum led the team with 15 digs.  Mines combined for six blocks, 42 digs, and 41 kills.

Maddi Johnston, Brenna Hansen, and Tessa Sian each recorded five kills for the Blue Hawks.  Ashleigh Aufforth and Morgan Lutz each dished out eight assists.  Natasha Malana continued to lead Dickinson State on defense with 12 digs.  The Blue Hawks finished the match with 24 kills, 24 assists, and 31 digs. 

The Blue Hawks will be back in action in 10 days, when they host North Star Athletic Association foe Mayville State.  The match is scheduled for September 19 and will start at 7 p.m.
