MADISON, S.D. – Dickinson State University is on the road for their next two road matches against Dakota State and Presentation College in a pair of North Star Athletic Association matchups. The match against Dakota State is slated for Friday (Sept. 26) at 7 p.m., while the Blue Hawks will take on Presentation on Saturday (Sept. 27) at 3 p.m.
Dakota State is coming off a loss in their last match against the College of Saint Mary. The Trojans were swept in the match, 3-0. Dakota State had a hitting percentage of only .150, with a low of .061 in the second set. Prior to the loss, the Trojans were enjoying a bit of a hot streak. They had won five in a row, before Saint Mary was able to knock them off. Dickinson State has faced Dakota State once this season already. At the Corn Palace Invite, the Trojans were able to squeak past the Blue Hawks 3-2. The Trojans have only played one NSAA match and defeated Presentation, 3-0.
Presentation College is currently riding a three game losing streak, including a 3-1 loss against Dakota Wesleyan. In their last six matches, the Saints are 1-5. Dickinson State has not played the Saints yet this season. During the 2013 campaign, the Blue Hawks were 1-1 against Presentation. The two teams finished the season even in set wins, with three a side.
Dickinson State is looking to find its first win of the season. The Blue Hawks battled to a tough 3-2 loss on Saturday (Sept. 20) against Valley City State. Miranda Kadrmas leads the Blue Hawks with 92 kills. Maddi Johnston has totaled 83 kills. Morgan Lutz currently sits atop the assists category with 219. Ashleigh Aufforth has picked up 129. Natasha Malana leads the Blue Hawks with 247 digs. Tessa Sian has notched 10 solo blocks and 29 block assists, for a total of 26 blocks.
The Blue Hawks' first match of the weekend is slated to start at 7 p.m. on Friday (Sept. 26) at Dakota State.
