MADISON, S.D. – Dickinson State fell in three sets to Dakota State on Friday (Sept. 26) in a North Star match. The Blue Hawks are now 0-15 on the season and 0-3 in North Star games. The Trojans are 13-6 overall and 2-0 in NSAA matches. The Trojans took the match with scores of: 17-25, 21-21, and 22-25.
Caitlin Pick and Carly Rozell led the Trojans in kills with 10 each. Hope Juntunen finished with six. Stacey Westby and Kaylee Vander Wal each notched 16 assists. Katherine Gonzalez led with 17 digs. Dakota State finished with 40 kills, 36 assists, and 65 digs.
Tessa Sian and Brenna Hansen finished with eight kills apiece. Shelby Gustafson and Miranda Kadrmas each picked up six. Natasha Malana led the Blue Hawks with 20 digs and 20 serve receptions. Tori Baumiller made her first appearance, since being activated from her injury, and dished out 31 assists. The Blue Hawks finished with 36 kills, 32 assists, 58 digs, five blocks, and three service aces.
Dickinson State will be back in action on Saturday (Sept. 27) against Presentation College in Aberdeen, S.D.
