JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The Blue Hawks are coming off their first win of the season and their first conference win since becoming a part of the North Star Athletic Association. Dickinson State will get another chance to record a conference win on Tuesday (Sept. 30) as they head to Jamestown to take on the No. 24 Jimmies.
Jamestown is 12-4 on the season with a 4-0 NSAA record. Fourteen of the Jimmies 16 matches have gone over three sets, including three of four conference matches. In their last match, the Jimmies handed Dakota State a four set loss in Madison, S.D. Namoi Walther recorded 18 kills, four blocks, and two aces. Alaina Brown picked up 16 kills, 11 digs, and four assists. Amanda Kramer had 30 digs. Kaia Buck dished out 31 assists, while Aubrey Beaumont recorded 26.
Dickinson State is coming off of their first win of the 2014 campaign. The Blue Hawks forced the Saints to a five-set match and prevailed 15-12 in the final set. Miranda Kadrmas recorded a career high 17 kills, while Brenna Hansen notched 12. Tori Baumiller made her second appearance since returning from an injury and dished out 35 assists. Shaylee Singleton recorded 19 digs, while Jenifer Huebner picked up 10. Natasha Malana continues to lead the Blue Hawks defense with 27 digs. The senior libero has accumulated 294 digs on the year, with 102 of those coming in conference.
