DICKINSON, N.D. – Dickinson State hosted South Dakota School of Mines on Tuesday (Oct. 7) in a non-conference match. The Hardrockers picked up a 3-0 victory with scores of 25-21, 25-22, and 25-18. Mines is 9-6 on the year, while the Blue Hawks fall to 1-17.
Jena Kreuzer and Samantha Johnson each recorded 14 kills for the Hardrockers. Carsyn Garcia dished out 36 assists. Mikkella Reese led Mines with 19 digs. Kreuzer recorded 14 and Kyle Gorngpratum finished with 13.
The Blue Hawks put up 12 kills in each of the first two sets. In the first set, Tessa Sian recorded seven total blocks. She would finish with 11, four of which were solo. Sian also brought in six kills. Miranda Kadrmas led Dickinson State with nine kills. Brenna Hansen finished with seven kills. Tori Baumiller continued her success in the 5-1 offense with 24 assists. Natasha Malana picked up 23 digs. Dickinson State finished with 32 kills, 28 assists, 55 digs, and 13 blocks.
The Blue Hawks will be on the road Wednesday (Oct. 8) for a conference match against Mayville State University.
