Blue Hawks Fall in Four to Vikings

VALLEY CITY, N.D. – Dickinson State played Valley City State in its final North Star match of the regular season.  The Vikings came away with a 3-1 win.  The set scores were: 16-25, 26-24, 20-25, and 25-20.  Dickinson State is now 2-25 on the season and 2-8 in conference.

Alley Theroux notched a team high 14 kills for the Vikings.  Jodi Wilde and Kaitlyn Heuring each recorded nine, while Barbara Ector recorded eight.  Megan Good dished out 20 assists, while Stephanie Miller picked up 16.  Jen Wettstein notched 13 digs and Jaycee George recorded 10.  The Vikings finished with 43 kills, 22 errors, 38 assists, 13 aces, and 59 digs.

Brenna Hansen, Tessa Sian, and Shelby Gustafson each recorded seven kills for the Blue Hawks.  Miranda Kadrmas recorded five.  Tori Baumiller led the Blue Hawks in assists with 14, while Morgan Lutz recorded 11.  Natasha Malana recorded 19 digs, while Justine Braunagel notched 12.  Jenifer Huebner also recorded 10.  The seniors combined for 42 of the Blue Hawks' 70 digs.  Kate Golding and Gustafson recorded two solo blocks each.  Dickinson State finished with 32 kills, 70 digs, and seven blocks.

The Blue Hawks head to Rock Island, Illinois for a Division III tournament.  They face Augustana on Friday (Oct. 31) at 4 p.m.
