VALLEY CITY, N.D. – The Blue Hawks travel to Valley City on Saturday (Nov. 8) for the opening round of the North Star Athletic Association volleyball playoffs. The No. 5 seed Dickinson State will look to oust No. 4 seed Valley City.
The Vikings are 3-0 against the Blue Hawks this season, including 2-0 record in conference matches. Valley City has won in three, four, and five sets. The five set match was in Scott Gym. After dropping the first two sets, the Vikings took the next three sets to take the match, 3-2.
Valley City finished the regular season with a mark of 14-17 and a 4-6 record in conference. Alley Theroux led the Vikings with 376 kills in 116 sets. Barbara Ector recorded 251 kills. Stephanie Miller dished out 653 assists, while Megan Good notched 340.
On top of breaking two records for Dickinson State this season, Natasha Malana broke the 1,000 digs mark in her career at Dickinson State. The senior libero has recorded 1,023 thus far as a Blue Hawk. Miranda Kadrmas has notched 228 kills, while Tessa Sian picked up 187. Morgan Lutz dished out 404 assists, while Tori Baumiller recorded 253. Baumiller has recorded a team high 148 assists in conference matches.
The first set is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. central in Valley City on Saturday (Nov. 8).
