DSU Volleyball Defeats Florida National in Three Sets

LAKE WALES, FL- The Dickinson State University Volleyball team won their first match in the Warner Invite notching their first win of the season as they defeated Florida National in three sets (25-13, 25-7, 25-5).

In the first set, the Blue Hawks took an early lead and never looked back while winning the opening set 25-13. The Blue Hawks continued to roll in the second set winning 25-7 and dominated the third and final set winning 25-5. This is the first win for the Blue Hawks under Head Coach Jenn Hartman.

Sydney Bentz led recorded eight kills on 21 attempts while Brenna Hansen added eight kills on 18 attempts with two serve aces, three digs and one block.

Danielle Boyette landed six kills on eight attempts with 21 assists, three digs and two blocks while Shaylee Singleton recorded a game high 17 digs.

The Blue Hawks finished the victory with 33 kills on 71 attempts, 29 assists, 10 ace serves and 47 digs.

Dickinson State continues their Warner Invite on Friday at 6:00 PM (EDT) as they face off with host Warner and finish up their Florida trip with two matches Saturday against Central Methodist at 11:00 AM (EDT) and Ava Maria at 4:00 PM (EDT).

The Blue Hawks redord is now 1-4 (0-0 NSAA).
