DSU Volleyball Loses in Five Sets to Mount Marty

VALLEY CITY, ND- The Dickinson State University Volleyball team dropped another five set match on Saturday as they lost to Mount Marty College.

For the second time on Saturday, the Blue Hawks dropped a heartbreaker in the final set. DSU won the first set 25-20, lost the second set 17-25, won the third set 29-27, lost the fourth 24-26 and the fifth 11-15. 

The Blue Hawks finished the match with 55 kills on 140 attempts, 24 errors, 49 assists, 54 digs and eight blocks.

Leading the Blue Hawks with 12 kills were Brenna Hansen (31 attempts and eight digs), Sydney Bentz (24 attempts, one dig and one block) and Tessa Sian (31 attempts, one dig and three blocks).

Danielle Boyette finished the match with 44 assists, nine digs and one block.

The Blue Hawks will host the University of Jamestown on Tuesday for their home opener in Scott Gym at 6:00 PM (MDT).
